Since opening on the Eden Business Park site in 2018, the Van Mossel Jacksons showroom on Cooil Road in Braddan has become one of the most striking landmarks in the Isle of Man’s business community, and not just in the automotive retail sector.

Sitting on one of the main routes into the Island’s capital, Douglas, with a frontage that will always attract a sideways glance from drivers (albeit only a very quick one!), the Van Mossel Jacksons showroom is quite rightly considered best-in-class. Van Mossel’s 6.8 acre site also includes two other properties, hosting their Van Mossel MotorMall showroom and an extensive Service Centre.

Van Mossel Jacksons General Manager, Anthony Wilson, and Head of Sales, Matt Spencer highlight why the firm’s Eden Business Park home is the ideal location to showcase some of the world’s most prestigious car marques.

Anthony explains, ‘The buildings on the site were purpose-built for the firm by Hartford. The Van Mossel site brings together car marques that, up until 2018, were found scattered across multiple sites in the Isle of Man. Having 27 superb marques in two state of the artshowrooms really does help the customer in terms of their decision-making as well. They can test drive three, four, or five different vehicles in a couple of hours. Something that was simply not possible before the showroom was developed.’

The firm is also not standing still and continues to add high-quality brands, recently hosting representatives from manufacturer BYD.

Anthony added, ‘They were incredibly impressed by the building’s setup and how it would be a really good fit for their brand. The design, layout and presentation of the building was key in getting our automotive brand partners to agree to letting us have this bespoke arrangement with all these quality marques under one roof.’

Matt detailed some of the onsite factors that support Van Mossel’s approach to ensuring customer considerations are always at the heart of their operations.

‘The Van Mossel approach is totally focused on the customer. We’re not into the high-pressure sales approach, and we aim to create what is effectively a relaxed vibe. We offer comfortable lounge spaces, free Wi-Fi, a bank of 22KwH EV chargers and a welcoming atmosphere that encourages customers to treat the showroom as a place to relax while browsing our vehicles, or perhaps even a place to work while their vehicle is getting serviced.

Convenience plays a big role in the customer experience. We offer ample parking space, we’re very close to some other big retailers, and we enjoy easy access to the ferry, which is a mere five minute drive away.

‘We’re even just a short walk away from the Isle of Man Post Office HQ, so getting cars taxed and registered is a swift process.’

As Matt notes, customers can ‘test drive three, four, even five different models in a couple of hours’, a level of efficiency rarely possible elsewhere.

When asked about the top advantages of Eden Business Park as the home for Van Mossel’s base in the Isle of Man, Matt and Anthony were straight to the point: ‘The excellent accessibility, ample parking, and its highly visible position on a key route.’ The Van Mossel Jacksons and Van Mossel MotorMall showrooms are open seven days a week and full details of the marques on offer and opening times can be found at www.jacksons.im and www.motor-mall.im
